Tozai Todd

Hi. I’m Todd Lemoine. Tozaitodd.com is my newest online home. I’ve had a few other sites and blogs in the past, but this is the newest one. With any luck, its future will be brighter than its predecessors’. It’s very much a personal site, and at the time I’m writing this, I imagine that what’s here will mostly be of interest to friends and family, but I have a couple of ideas for posts that the world at large might like to read as well.

About the name

I lived in Tokyo for about a year and a half and every day I rode the Tokyo Metro Tozai subway line to work. It’s an infamous line, known for being especially crowded during rush hours, a reputation well-deserved. The name Tozai and its kanji (pronounced TOH-ZAI) literally mean “East West” and in fact that’s exactly how the line runs, from the east side of Tokyo to the west side.
