“I was nervous. I did not think that I could win,” said Ryuki Omura, 16, who started learning pen spinning only 14 months ago.
Gucha Gucha
Sunday, March 30th, 2008Japanese has several onomatopoeic expressions, often the same sound repeated, and often to describe sounds and feelings. Gucha-gucha is a favorite, which you can use to describe something messed up and out of order in a tangled, sticky ugly sort of way. When you wake up after a hard night of boozing, for example, your hair and state of being might be called gucha-gucha. Like this:

Just looking at its box, you might be tempted to think Game Party is just another piece of crapware for the Wii. You would be 95% wrong. It ain’t great, and it won’t win any awards for Graphic Excellence, and occasionally the controls are baffling, but it does manage to be fun. And Scott, I think all the games are one-handed.
